30th Birthday Presents

I remember the days I couldn't wait to be 18, I recall seeing my older sister going out with her friends and all the freedom that came with it.  I couldn't wait.  My 18th birthday consisted of a large house party and me nearly falling into my parents pond so I simply looked forward to my 21st instead.  21 was meant to be the age, the age our parents would remind us about how fantastic it was for them.  For me, 21 was simply a stepping stone - I was still growing up.  Now i'm 27 and all my close friends are approaching 30.  To me 30 is the perfect age, you've lived, grown up and are at an age where you can do as you please but with a mature twist.  As I've got older I've developed many skills and shopping (if you've read my blog) is one of my top ones, especially when it comes to present shopping.  Birthdays are an area I've honestly tried to get better and better at shopping for, purchasing the perfect present that has had plenty of thought and compassion gone into it.  So, with all these 30th birthdays I've got coming up I've told myself I must think outside the box and shop better for the ideal 30th birthday presents

"A picture is worth a thousand words"
That's me eyeing up my teddy chocolate cake on my 3rd birthday
Personalised presents are a great idea, for example one of my close friends loves to bake, (and I love her cupcakes she makes!) for her I could create an apron with a photo from when we were in primary school making fairy cakes that my Mum took. It's personal and is a bit deeper than just any old present... its a 30th birthday present and represents years of friendship!
If your friends haven't grown to love baking, I adore the personalised shopping bags.  Great companions and ideal for those who don't like to keep using plastic bags when we head out shopping. You can maybe add an image of that great night out you had when you were teens?
The list is honestly endless of what you can do to personalise your 30th birthday presents  What about a photo album of your friendship?  Or maybe a photo pillow?  For my 30th birthday presents - remember I'd like any of what I've mentioned... you've got 3 years to get them sorted for me! :o)

xoxo

  1. I was bummed at the thought of turning 30 this year but you’ve made me feel a bit better about it

  2. I'm pleased. When you're young you always think turning 18, 21 or 30 is old... when you get there it still feels young. Thats how I think about being 30! xx

  3. Yay, I'm glad there's women like you out there that aren't terrified of turning 30! I'm only 20 and I'm already worried that I'm getting old (crazy, I know). It's great to look at it like you said: 30 will be the best age because it will be the age I'm going to be "all the way" grown up!

  4. I don't want to wish years away, I do like being in my twenties. I'm just not frightened of being 30. I think you have to embrace each age xx
