I'd previously been to The Savoy earlier in the year for the Elle Style Awards, where I saw an amazing fashion event with a number of celebrities, indulged in a delicious meal and enjoyed the beautiful sounds of Emeli Sande. This event was somewhat different as instead of being in one of the halls we were in the main Savoy Theatre. If any of you are wondering what this particular hotel is like, only one word can describe it... Divine.
My tickets arrived in the post and as I could take someone with me, I decided to embrace the opportunity and take my handsome boyfriend....however I did tell him I'd be selecting his clothing for the evening! My outfit on the other hand was the gorgeous Valletta dress from Beloved clothing, I got mine from Fuse Fashion (do have a look on their site they also do plus size dresses - something that is hard to find) and you can too for £75.00... yes that's right my dress for the British Fashion Awards was under £100.00! There are so many beautiful dresses and other items on Fuse Fashion... make sure you take a peak.

Whilst I was attempting to fathom out what I could possibly wear to the event I decided to piece together how I might style the outfit. Firstly I knew I needed wedges as I know I can walk quite happily in them without falling over, (although at The Savoy almost tripped down the stairs - keeping it stylish!) and with the added delicate bow made the look quite feminine. I then decided I'd add a feathered black bolero to really boost the glam look. I did debate whether I could add in hints of aubergine through the accessories but for this particular occasion decided against it, however when I wear this dress again I could potentially bring out more autumnal warming tones.

I adore Darling Clothing and their other collection called Beloved, they are utterly stunning and so different...making them very appealing! After hours of faffing about with what to wear I did decide to go for the Beloved dress, I kept the entire ensemble quite classic and elegant. What do you think?

Next on my list to discuss is my date for the evening.... my gorgeous boyfriend. I was super excited to have him come with me as his job rarely gives him the flexibility. When we were discussing the 'black tie' invittation I knew we had to be smart, so to be a touch alternative I suggested a bow tie and some braces - it's classic! Luckily he went for it and my goodness did I fancy him!
On arrival the photographers were going mad for the celebrities that had appeared at the event, we went in located our seats and headed straight for the bar for some champagne!
As we returned to our seats ready for the show to begin I felt overwhelmed by how superb The Savoy theatre actually was. What baffled me was the fact there was this gorgeous theatre hidden in amongst a beautiful hotel - the British Fashion Council clearly knew how to organise an event!

The evening was filled with star studded guests to present the awards; the stunning Lily Cooper appeared in a beautiful dress, (she should create her own maternity line as her dress looked fabulous on her) followed by Samantha Cameron looking equally beautiful in a colourful ensemble, Pixie Geldof went for an outfit to show off her gorgeous figure, then we had extra special visits from Salam Hayek and Valentino Garavani to name only a few. Many other fashion renowned people came to the awards, I even bumped into the John Rocha as I went to get refreshments in the hotel.
Well there you have it, the second time in my blogging life I was at The Savoy for a fashion event. I had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed the evening, so I just want to say a huge thank you to The British Fashion Council for making it great awards. Question is, what will they do next year?
