I don't know about you but with all this snow I can't help but dream of my days back in the mountains. I lived in Val d'Isere for a season where everyday was full of crisp white mountains... oh it was pure bliss!
What would your ideal winter holiday be? Obviously lots of snow, but what about in breath-taking scenery with great food and company... so what about South Tyrol to provide all of that? Plus they offer all of that and they're giving away an amazing chance to win £1,000 of Salomon ski wear. I have a Salomon snowboard and have used Salomon skis too... they're fantastic!
I have never been to South Tyrol but my snowboard loving fiancé has. I'm desperate to go as he's told me of the many plus factors about such a place, unlike our time in Val d'Isere, South Tyrol somehow works for every age from the enthusiastic skiiers to the families who want fun in the snow.
You can find the World Cup slopes Saslong and Gran Risa with their thrilling (and yet scary) vertical drops of over 400m! There is stunning scenery in Fanes-Senes Natural Park covering a whopping 25,000 hectares of the beautiful Dolomite. As I mentioned you can even have a family holiday as children can have fun in Alta Pusteria, there are giant snowmen in ice castles as well as winter playgrounds at the Winter Wornder World in Sesto. Doesn't that sound amazing anywhere?
Perhaps like me you don't want to ski everyday, you can just relax in the highest elevated sauna in Europe! This can be found at he Bella Vista by the Hochjochferner Glacier. You can tickle your tastebuds too with an outstanding 23 (yes I said 23!) Michelin stars over 20 restaurants, but you must check out Auener Hof which is the highest-located Michelin starred restaurant in Italy.
If you've been teased by all this snow we've suddenly had and fancy a go and skiing or snowboarding, then have a peak at the video below and discover what South Tyrol has to offer. Oh and don't forget to enter the amazing competition...
It is definitely a place I want to visit after hearing such great things... what about you?
