Style your way to that Red Carpet

We’ve all
watched Gossip Girl and we’ve all certainly either loved Serena’s or
Blair’s look…I positively have! As a massive fan of the show I’ve stalked
their styles from the word go, and off screen is no exception! The lovely lady
who plays Serena, Miss Blake Lively is one of our generations ‘ones to
watch’
, as her personal style is utterly flawless along with her
beauty.

Now the
image from the magnificent Elle Awards 2011, Blake is wearing a superb
dress by Emilio Pucci and Magenta heels by Louboutin.  It
appears the fabric of the dress is mildly pleated, asymmetric and trails at the
back, meaning it hangs in a way that compliments her figure.  She’s teamed
this stunning ensemble with simple gold bangles, gold earrings, and finished it
off with shoes that are a rich magenta tone complete with gold lining.

Blake’s
style is certainly sophisticated, and even though it’s not too daring it still
is extremely statement.  Something I’m very sure we all aim to achieve in
our own iconic looks. With this in mind the look I’ve created below from Next
isn’t the same as Blake’s look but definitely uses it as inspiration.  The
first and main focal point of the outfit is the divine floor length Navy Waterfall
Maxi Dress
, this dress is stunning in every which way
possible.  It has a smooth look, with the waterfall asymmetric front
(creating a statement at the front like Blake’s) it emphasises such an elegant
feel.  There is a slit at the bottom of the dress for those cheeky leg
exposure shots we love so much on the red carpet.

For Blake
her pretty face means she can carry most anything off, and also means she keeps
the motto ‘less is more’.  She doesn’t ever accessorize too much, but what
she does add to her outfits she makes sure they’re iconic on their own.
The earrings I’ve chosen are from the spice girl, Miss Geri Halliwell
collection at Next
Blake does tend to wear more simple earrings, but this usually happens when her
main fashion piece is more vibrant.  In this particular case because the
dress is so sleek on its own – adding these Geri
Gold Plated and Pink Semi Precious Stone Earrings
they
certainly throw some spice into the look.  Blake isn’t wearing anything
other than a statement bangle on her wrist, so I’ve added to our look the
fantastic mix of Next Cream Bangle Pack. The colours in this set,
will set off the fact we have such colourful shoes, but also tone the rest of
the look down so instead of being a daring look we are actually just creating
that statement image we’ve been seeking.  Which, as mentioned is definitely
the way to Blake it.

Lastly
but certainly not least we have thee statement shoes of the outfit Magenta Patent
Extreme Wedges
for the statement outfit these shoes set the outfit
off and make it perfect for the red carpet.  I know wedges don’t usually
surface for a Red Carpet look, but these are super high and are the same colour
as Blake’s.  Wedges are a girl’s best friend because they’re much easier
to walk in, meaning there shouldn’t be any trip ups! So what is not to love?!
