Gonna ride my bike until I get home

Those of you who ‘like’ my facebook page will have discovered this week that I have a new love in my life.  That’s right, it’s in the form of a 1992 Raleigh push bike… by the name of Gertie.  She is gorgeous, with rich purple colour all over her frame, a cute little bell and even a basket.  She has been the new love of my life and I adore cycling around on her.  Better yet she only cost £70.00… absolute bargain!

I hunted for a wicker basket but they were about £40.00 from the local bike shops.  I decided for the time being to stick to a black basket from Wilkinsons for a bargain of £8.99.  It certainly is stable and perfect for getting me from A to B. I want to invest in a bike bag for the back of my bike… I’ve learnt that I do tend to carry everything with me in my ‘Mary Poppins’ handbag and this becomes a problem, when you want to take it with you on your bike.
Over the upcoming sunny months, Gertie & I will be off on adventures across the UK.  Please check back to find out how we are getting on, what gadets we’ve added and of course cycling accessories! If any of you reading this cycle much yourself, please do get in touch and share :o)

Beach cruiser prices have escalated to an outrageous price these last few years and together the founders realized there had to be a way to make things more affordable.

The newly designed frame with a thicker top tube coupled with the neon rims make the Mammoth something to behold.
