The other week I was invited to Manchester for one of my best friends birthday celebrations. Having not been out in quite a while I was eager to go shopping to find a special outfit, however I couldn’t find anything new I loved so was considering to wear something I already owned – but this didn’t feel right I wanted something new for such a special occassion.
After creating the moodboard above I decided to be daring and opt for a bodycon pencil skirt, which is something I’d of never have dreamed of buying! I just hate any emphasis on my hips/stomach but for some unknown reason I thought it may be a good idea…

We went to some of Manchesters chic bars for delicious cocktails and plenty of dancing. It was an amazing night full of everything a girls night out should be topped with lots of giggles.
As you can see I’ve chosen a black chiffon vest top and pulled it out from the tucked in skirt, the reason I did this is because it stops the outfit looking harsh. By doing what I did just softens the look a bit and an added bonus is that it creates emphasis on the nipped in waist.
Myself and the gorgeous birthday girl drinking cocktails out of a classic cup and saucer!
We ventured to lots of spectacular Manchester hotspots but I must admit my favourite was Neighbourhood – which we actually spent most of the night indulging in cocktails, good music and stylish people. I was a bit worried it may be a bit pretentious but actually it was the opposite being really inviting and just great fun… the perfect cocktail for a fabulous night out! I will definetely be visiting again and after I discovered it was also a restaurant I think my next trip to Manchester will be starting with a meal there…
Have you ever been out in Manchester? If not I really do reccommend it, especially Neighbourhood.
