Bloggers Day Bag – The Super Seven

I’ve decided after years of being a ‘bag’ lady to share my compact packing knowledge.  Every blogging event I go to tends to be in London or some other big city, therefore I always have to travel to get there which can be a big pain!  I really would struggle packing lightly because let’s be honest who wants to be lugging a huge bag on their shoulders, when you know full well you potentially will be carting an arm full of press bits on your journey home…. it’s a tiring image!

Cambridge Spring Satchels

I recently got this stunning Cambridge Satchel in the new SS14 colour, Orchid and so this beautiful item is my bag of choice for this piece.  I’m in love with The Cambridge Satchel Company new SS14 collection with their stunning pastels tones… come on Spring hurry up!

1. Purse

I find that I have accumulated a ridiculous amount of rewards cards, which I’m sure you’ll agree that you’ve taken but don’t really ever use!  When I know I am going somewhere like a blog event, I transfer my purse content down to a smaller one for just the essential cards; bank card, I.D, oyster card, (if required) some kind of coffee reward card… oh and any gift cards (you never know!).

2. Phone

It’s a pretty obvious choice but who can actually live without their phone!? This will always come with me but if short on bag space it can live in my pocket.

3. Charger

I’m not sure about you but if I am at a blog event chances are I will be taking lots of snaps for instagram, or perhaps tweeting and using other social media forms.  When using these apps lots it really can drain your battery, so by the time you’re heading home your battery light may end up flashing… for me this is an absolute essential!

4. Make up

I always do my make up routine before I leave but obviously need to take some with me to touch up, I’ll literally take as little as possible; powder, lipstick, mascara and eye liner.  I can just about cope without the rest!

5. Camera

This is a little bit of a cheeky cop out because usually we all have seperate camera bags, but if you don’t then I’d certainly say this is a must.

6. Food

I sometimes find I’m so busy I don’t have a chance to eat whilst on the go, my secret weapon is a simple babybel cheese.  You may laugh but having a piece of cheese if you haven’t eaten levels you out!  I’d also suggest a bottle of water but if you’re on the space struggle go for one of the little bottles.

7.  Writing

If you’re a blogger chances are you need to write!  If you don’t have an iPad mini or similar smaller device then go for the classic notepad and pen.  You can get those little notepads and to be honest for jotting ideas down they’re perfect.

There you have the top seven bits that are a must for any blogger on the go, anything else you can squeeze in is an added bonus but don’t leave the house without these!

Do you agree with my items? What can’t you go without?

For blogger events, I wouldn't go without my business cards. I always collect loads too; it helps me remember who I've spoken to! My Kindle is an essential so I don't go mad with boredom on the train.
I love the bag; I would love a Cambridge Satchel.
