The other week I was invited with a bundle of bloggers to a spa day at Champney Springs, hosted by TENA Lights. Whether we like it or not those little oops moment do happen, things like laughing too hard or even jumping on a trampoline can cause them. Even though popular culture often leads us to think it is merely just an ‘older’ lady scenario, believe it or not it really isn’t and happens at any age…
I was taking my Sunday to the Champney Springs Spa which was just down the road from me in Ashby De La Zouch. I was looking forward to a gym session, a yoga session and of course a spa treatment! Greeted on arrival by the TENA team, we were given an over view of their TENA Lights products. The items shown were something that is marketed to be an ‘everyday’ wear item and is designed to help with those oops moments. I’m sure we’ve all had at some point whether we like to admit it.
During our talk we discussed the importance of pelvic floor exercises – something I don’t really tend to think about or do! I was steered in the direction of the My PFF downloadable app, which apparently helps to guide and remind you to practise.
I had no idea that bladder weakness effected so many women and not just ‘stereotypes’ of who we think would have this as an issue. Apparently 1 in 3 of us will experience some sort of bladder weakness in our lives, but no one really talks about it, which is why Lights by TENA have launched the #NoOneToldMe campaign. A really interesting read on the TENA website is their Myths & Facts page, make sure you have a read here.
Lights by TENA have a great selection of products to cater to your needs from rare leaks to little and often ones. It is worth having a browse and after being passed one to prod and poke(!), I can assure you that they are small and discreet! You can find their products here
After the chat finished we had a bit of a weights session to get the blood pumping, before we took yoga mats outside in the sunshine. Any kind of yoga outdoors was always going to win my vote, I don’t practice as much as I used to and it made me realise how much I missed it.
Once we’d all had a stretch and a bit of needed relaxation, we were onto the best part – the treatments! I went for a classic back massage, which nearly sent me to sleep. After all my week swimming my shoulders were tight as a tiger! Champney products are absolutely lush anyway, so beautiful smells and this gorgeous massage were just what I needed to unwind.
Big thanks to TENA for inviting me a long, it was great to meet some wonderful fellow bloggers too. Get involved with the chat by using the hashtag #NoOneToldMe

This looks like such a fan event! It's shame there is so much stigma around the issue when it effects so many women – so well done for bringing it to light

I never thought to go to these kind of events, but it actually looks quite fun!

Oooh, looks like a really lovely day. And I agree, there shouldn't be such a stigma around this, especially as it's so common. Great to see people talking openly about it.

What a great campaign, sadly it affects more women than we know and there is a stigma around it which shouldn't be there

This sounded like such a good event and I love Champney's products so I am super jealous! I remember being so into doing my pelvic floor exercises when I was pregnant but didn't really think about them after that, so an app to remind you is great! x
