Original Source got in touch a few weeks ago about a campaign they were working on called #PackMoreIn. Original Source for those who don’t know who they are, they’re a shower gel brand which pack their products full of natural fragrances to give you that energising and invigorating feeling after your shower. Perfect for that morning kickstart! For 2017 Original Source are trying to encourage people to get up each day and pack more fun and adventure into their day. In celebration they are doing a number of giveaways for some exclusive prizes such as bungee jumping, shark diving, (and my personal favourite) a flamingo safari! To be in with a chance you simply need to pick a promotional bottle and enter the code on their website.
With this all in mind I was set the task of doing just that, packing more in to my day! A hard concept as I’m pretty much jam packed on a daily basis, but I thought to myself I need to be more adventurous and so I set myself the task to do just that this weekend just gone.
This was going to be tricky because I find I do a lot of boring adult activities at the weekend, the oh so boring ones you never seem to squeeze in during the week. For example catching up with washing, cleaning the car, returning clothes, sorting out bills etc.
I had a clear goal and I was determined to stick to it! First I decided I’d make some breakfast in bed for me and my husband.. including fresh coffee! Instead of our quick grab and go, we took some well needed time to eat our breakfast happily in bed before planning out our day. The dog kept dobbing us to get up and take him for a walk so that was first on the agenda. A nice long leisurely walk in the sunshine, with a spot of ball chucking involved down at the local field was a great start.
Afterwards we decided to go for a run, normally we’d do park run, but this was going to be different. We were off on a trail run to some of the most scenic places around where we live. Around The Outwoods and finally head up to the peak of Beacon Hill. My first 10k since I did nerve damage back in August, and my goodness I felt amazing standing at the top of that hill looking out so far. I felt so alive stood up there!
After we’d had our run we came back and I used the Original Source lemongrass to set me up for the day, as we decided we’d head into Nottingham for a little bit of lunch. I don’t always get a chance to leisurely stroll about the shops so that was a pleasant change.
The last part of our adventure was going trampolining! Both Nick and I had never tried it so we headed over to Rebound in Ashby to give it a go. Let’s start my telling you I am thee most accident prone person ever… ever… I’ve fallen over so many times, bruised and damaged myself I’ve lost count, at work last week I fell up the steps and catapulted my coffee over the bannister. Yep. So trampolining was going to be interesting!
Nick took to it straight away leaping and jumping about like some sort of spring lamb, and I just sort of bounced tentatively on the spot for a while. We decided to have a go at the foam pit, which is where Nick started doing back flips – what a show off! I eventually built my confidence up and had a go springing about doing tuck jumps, split kicks, sit down stand ups, and slam dunks in the basketball area… but that was about it for me! None the less I gave it a go and my gosh was I exhausted afterwards. I was tired from this activity, but the none stop active weekend I’d had.. so we finished with some dinner and alcohol free wine!
I couldn’t believe how much I’d achieved in one day just by planning properly. I do waste a lot of time not doing a lot when I don’t organise myself, so big thanks to Original Source for reminding me that I need to be that little bit more adventurous. What about you? What would you do if you could pack more in?
