A lot of women feel restricted when they’re on their period. Perhaps it isn’t going out with your friends, or maybe you don’t like going to the gym or swimming because of it, or perhaps you just write the week of your monthly menstrual cycle off completely. If you think about it – that’s a lot of inconveniences caused by mother nature over a lifetime. Once upon a time I perhaps stopped what I did too, now I quite frankly don’t care. Whether that is an age thing or not, who knows, but I wasted a lot of time putting things off and not having fun because of it.

Bodyform have just launched their VIP pink ticket promotion. A collaboration for a lucky winner to have a music-related experience, so they got in touch to ask me to do the same. Of course, I was completely loving this idea, not only to promote a fabulous competition but to drive home the idea that you can still have fun when you’re ‘on’. I have even had a period during a festival, and we all know how awkward that can be, visiting portaloos more than we’d like to, feeling uncomfortable and so on. It doesn’t have to be like that. With the right care and products, you can almost forget it’s even happening! How I dealt with that festival issue, was pads and wipes. I get a little paranoid actually with tampons about leaving them in too long, so I often like a pad, but at the same time I don’t want to be worrying about that either. Luckily sanitary towels have come on leaps and bounds over the years, so now they’re really absorbent but minimal.

With this in mind and the new launch of the Bodyform VIP ticket competition, I wanted to get into a chat about whether being on your period has stopped you from doing something. I hold my hand up – it has me. Like I say, as I’ve got older I have sort of got the mindset of, other people actually go through this too, and I don’t feel as alone. With regards to tackling period issues at music events, whether it’s just a concert or it’s a week-long festival, it’s all about planning! If you feel more prepared then you’ll be more relaxed about it. Take a small side bag with all the needed items, and if like me, you get a little paranoid that there could be leakage, (even though there probably isn’t) just change to freshen up. Don’t let mother nature rule you!

As I say this post is here because of this epic Bodyform VIP Pink Ticket Event. If you want to find out more and be in with a chance of winning one of these awesome prizes, click here to find out more…. and good luck!
