ABOUT THE BROOKS EDIT
Hi, I’m Annie — welcome to The Brooks Edit, formerly Tales of Annie Bean.
I started this little corner of the internet back in 2013, originally as Tales of Annie Bean. What began as a personal blog has grown and changed a lot over the years — as have I — so it felt like the name deserved to grow up a little too.
The Brooks Edit is essentially a collection of the things I love, the places I go and the stories I want to tell. You’ll find plenty about film and the arts, travel, fitness and endurance, lifestyle, gardening, and whatever else happens to have caught my attention.
Being active has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve spent years running, cycling and swimming, taking on triathlons, Ironman and various challenges that seemed like an excellent idea at the time. But I’m equally happy watching a brilliant film, heading somewhere new, pottering around the garden or sharing something I’ve discovered and think is worth talking about.
I also talk openly about my experiences with epilepsy and epilepsy awareness, something that has been an important part of my platform for many years.
This blog has taken me to places I never imagined when I first hit publish back in 2013. I’ve travelled around the world through my work and collaborated with brands, travel companies and tourist boards, including Adidas, Huawei and Vogue. Tales of Annie Bean was a finalist in the UK Blog Awards for three consecutive years, I was named among the Top 50 Global Health & Fitness Influencers in 2015, and the blog won Fitness Blog of the Year with Myprotein in 2017.
My husband Nick has been part of plenty of the adventures too, contributing to the blog and our videos over the years, so you’ll still find him cropping up from time to time.
You can also find me over on YouTube, where I share even more of the adventures, fitness, travel, epilepsy awareness and general life antics.
I’m always happy to hear about relevant collaborations, press opportunities, travel partnerships, reviews and creative projects. All editorial content is written by me and I don’t accept pre-written articles or guest posts.
