Going on holiday can be one of the most exciting experiences, but with all the excitement it can also be rather stressful. As frequent traveller I’ve come to realise it is all about making things as easy as possible before a flight, and I’m a huge advocate for an airport hotel prior to a departure. This time I was flying out of Heathrow Airport and needed a place to relax and rest my head before a long haul flight to LA. Introducing the recently opened, Staybridge Suites Heathrow Airport. A 2-month old IHG hotel, (joined with Holiday Inn Heathrow) certainly sounded like a superb option prior to travel.
Location
We were driving from the Midlands and we simply popped the postcode into the Sat Nav and arrived with ease. You will find the hotel on Bath Road, a short drive away from the M4. There are plenty of places to park (£15), it was all very effortless.
Food and Drink
Next to Staybridge Suites Heathrow is the Holiday Inn Heathrow, which is actually joined, meaning you can easily enjoy the dining facilities of the Holiday Inn with their new HI Pizza restaurant.
We took a visit for a celebration holiday drink and it looked incredible. The bar had an art deco vibe to it and wall art that was made up of cents! Obviously, if you’d prefer, the bonus of Staybridge Suites is that you can cook in your own room! There is a 24-hour pantry down in the lobby area, which offers a wide range of food and drinks for guests to purchase.
Breakfast
I’m a huge fan of breakfast, but unfortunately some hotels can get it very wrong… but not Staybridge Suites Heathrow! What a great selection there was at their breakfast buffet. There was hot food, pastries, cereals, hot drinks, continental, granola and fruit. Certainly the way to start your day and this is complimentary for all guests staying in the hotel.
Social Hour
With the Staybridge Suites Heathrow Airport being very new, everything was crisp, stylish and super clean. We arrived and were checked in by a very attentive receptionist, who quickly encouraged us to go and enjoy their daily, Social Hour.
Now, Social Hour happens from 6.30pm until 7.30pm on a daily basis, where you can enjoy delightful snacks, such as mini lasagnas, bread, dips, olives and so on. You also could indulge in a cheeky glass of wine, beer or soft drinks should you wish. So, as we arrived with around 15 minutes to spare the lovely lady got us quickly checked in so we could experience the Staybridge Suites Heathrow Airport Social Hour.
Room Facilities
We had the kitchen facilities, with a dining table, then a comfortable lounge with a flat-screen TV. In the bedroom (which was attached) was our uber comfortable bed, another flat screen TV and our large bathroom complete with an epic power shower. Possibly the best hotel shower I’ve had in a long time! The decor was a combination of both comfortable and stylish. Basically everything you could need was in the room, a great combination of hotel, but home from home.

Fitness Suite
There is a fitness suite that is connected to the Holiday Inn next door. I was a good gym with state of the art gym equipment from TechnoGym, a mixture of cardiovascular options, weight machines and free weights.
Business Areas
There is meeting space called The Den that you can book out, but should you wish to sit and do work, there are so many areas to sit and absorb yourself in your laptop. There is a desk area which looks more specific to business working with plug sockets, but there are numerous cozy looking spots to work from.
Staff
From entering to leaving, the staff were nothing but exceptional. Attentive, welcoming and genuinely happy to be there and be looking after you.
Overall
I’d happily stay here again, as would my husband. It was easy to get to the terminals, either by the busy from outside the hotel, Hotel Hoppa (which is £5 and runs 24/7) or the bus stop 2 minutes away from where it is free. You need to get the U3 or 7 bus and it’ll take you to the terminals. The buses come around every 10 minutes.
