Finding Christmas gifts in an age when most people already have the things they want is hard. I’ve spent hours making gift lists and revising the options so many times that I’m now onto version number 8. It can get very frustrating. The thing with gift-giving is it isn’t always about how much you spend, but more about ‘thinking outside the box’ in terms of creativity.
There is no denying that fitness and the way we train has changed for us all since lockdown. So what is best gifts for a fitness lover Christmas 2020?
The inspiring gift
We all need some inspiration from time to time, so why not go for a good book as a gift? Reading a book is also a great way of relaxation but adding cooking, or something visually inspiring can really help get them ready for 2021 adventures.

Adventure – The Girl Outdoors – Sian Anna Lewis – 14.99
Running – Eat & Run – Scott Jurek – 12.99
Coffee table book – Lonely Planet Epic Runs of the World – 24.99
The cyclists gift
You cannot go wrong with a cycling jersey when it comes to gift-giving for a bike lover. Whether that is a winter cycling jersey or a more classic approach, either way, you can never go wrong! I’m a big fan of the Giant brand and love the stylish and classic looking Liv Cycling kit. Perfect for female cyclists! However, if you need something for a male cyclist, something bright and practical like this Giant thermal jersey is ideal for those long winter training sessions.
Liv Race Day Short Cycling Jersey – 59.99
Giant Illume Mid-Thermal Jersey – 74.99
The nutritional goodness gift
New year, new training plan. Has your gift receiver got a race coming up? I know I’m filling up my weekends with races and even though my training has begun, I’ll be stepping it up a notch in 2021. Why not help them on the nutritional front? Here is a gift box option from MyProtein. This contains golden whey bars, a shaker, towel and impact whey protein.

The homegym goer gift
Sometimes you want to pull out all the stops with your gift and this could be the way to go. For the fitness lover, especially one who is enjoying home training, why not introduce them to an immersive training experience? I love my Echelon Connect EX3, but if you’re looking for something on the more affordable side of the spectrum, be sure to check out the Echelon Connect Sport. Actually, why buy this for someone else, treat yourself this Christmas with a new way to workout!
You have the option of 3 sorts of memberships, monthly, annual and two-year, but you also have finance plans with Klarna and SplitIt. Essentially the Echelon Sport is similar to the Echelon EX3 with some minor differences, but the class experience is exactly the same, so do have a read of my Echelon EX3 review.
The ocean lovers gift
I’d ordinarily tell people to get a magazine subscription, which is definitely a great option, but what about a new and exclusive platform instead? Introducing Vitamin Sea Collective. A new and exciting offering from the amazing team at Surf Girl Magazine. Join fellow water lovers (not just surfers), with everything from new workout routines to inspiring articles, all easily accessible wherever you are in the world.

Stocking filler gift
Encourage 2021 sustainability with a reusable water bottle gift! This one is from brand Gym + Coffee is great for your gym lover. I stumbled across the brand when I got some gorgeous yoga gear, but they also do some sustainable merchandise like water bottles and coffee cups. Whilst their main items are in fact athleisure clothing, they have some fun merchandise available – and even give you the option to add a donation to help them plant 50,000 tress by the end of 2020!
The swimmers gift
What will every swimmer need for 2021 training? Decent goggles! I assure you, nothing else matters if you steam up, or have water seeping in when you’re swimming. It doesn’t matter how great your stroke is, if you can’t see, it’s pointless! Ta-da – Zoggs Predator Flex! My go to and absolute faves and ones I recommend for any swimmer. They even come in some fun colours!
Zoggs Predator Flex Goggles – 30.00
The runners gift
Got a runner in your household? Give the gift of speed, or in this case comfort and sustainability. Vivobarefoot are a relatively new addition to my running collection, but one I love. This particular pair are vegan too. The minimal trainers take a bit of getting used to but I assure you, have a bit of patience and it’ll be totally worth it. Let you gift receiver start the year on the right foot… or in this case in the right footwear.
Vivobarefoot Primus Trail Winter FG – 130.00
The gift for the tricky
For when you really can’t think of anything to buy, or you don’t want to buy the wrong thing… get a gift card. It might feel like a cop out, but gift cards are often good fun because it allows that person to have a shop online, indulge in the sales and if it is a store you know they love, then they’ll appreciate it all the more.
Sweaty Betty Gift Card – £10, £25, £50, £100
The main thing with gift giving is to remember it isn’t always about how much you spend, it is just about really thinking outside the box and finding something that your gift receiver will love and use. Remember last post for sending pressies is around the 19th or 20th of December, so be sure to get your skates on, happy shopping!
